Who we are

Iqra NZ Trust is a not-for-profit organisation set up in 2008. Our purpose is to print publications on a wide range of topics related to Islam and New Zealand. This mission arose from a dissatisfaction with many Islamic publications that are rooted in the practices of a particular country or school of thought, and/or have little relevance or appeal to the general public in Muslim-minority countries such as New Zealand. In short, they carry ‘cultural baggage’ and are unlikely to persuade non-Muslims of the beauty of the deen of Islam.

Iqra NZ Trust has no full-time staff, but instead is composed of enthusiastic volunteers, including converts. In this way, Iqra NZ Trust has no personnel costs.

Iqra NZ Trust is a virtual trust and has no property or other assets. In this way, housing loans, rates, power bills and other overheads are all avoided.

Nevertheless, Iqra NZ Trust requires funds for its publishing projects. We would prefer to acquire these funds through the professional running of our publication business, rather than by simple donations. We therefore ask you to buy our publications (click here for details) for yourself, your family and friends.
